Capacity is arithmetic you can check. Capacity is the length of the working day on a day they work, committed is the scheduled minutes already on them, open is the subtraction. A day somebody is away has no capacity, and says why.

Scheduling & dispatch

See the week, who has room on Thursday, what is committed and what has not been placed yet. Reported as arithmetic you can check, not as an algorithm you have to trust.

Work orders

A lifecycle you configure in your own words. Ten meanings the engine understands; the labels, and which status may follow which, are yours.

Customers & sites

One customer record, every site beneath it, and the access notes, contacts and conditions that make the second visit easier than the first.

Asset & equipment history

Every job that ever touched a unit, in one place. Serial, model, install date, service record, planned maintenance.

Crews & capacity

Assign a crew and its members go onto the job as people. Capacity counts each person once, and the roster is snapshotted so a finished job never changes.

Field experience

Everything the technician needs on a phone, in the order the job actually happens.

Labour & materials

Time recorded against the job in your own labour categories, parts from your price book, cost and margin visible while the job is still open.

Close-out

The checks, photos, forms and signature this kind of job requires, defined by you and enforced when the job is closed — not chased afterwards.

Service agreements

Recurring maintenance that generates its own visits, on a twelve-month horizon, without creating the same job twice.

Reporting

Executive view, service performance, job costing and utilisation — with every figure opening the records behind it.

The work order lifecycle

The meaning is ours. The label is yours.

Call it “En route” instead of “Travelling”. Split “Awaiting parts” into “Waiting on supplier” and “Waiting on customer”. Decide which status may follow which.

Underneath, Orientra still understands what each one means — so the response clock, the before-start requirements, what counts as open, and when closing evidence is filed all keep working.

History does not move. Every status change records the label and the meaning as they read at the time. Rename a status in March and every February job still reads as February’s.

Measurement

Numbers you can defend in a room.

Orientra states what a figure means before it shows you one. Capacity, service utilisation, field utilisation and billable utilisation are four different questions, and each carries its own numerator and denominator on its face.

Where the underlying record is incomplete, Orientra says so beside the number rather than dressing a gap up as a percentage.

  • Available time comes from your schedule, less recorded absence — never assumed
  • Actual service time comes from recorded labour, never inferred from a job’s duration
  • Travel is reported on its own, and is not called unproductive
  • A metric with insufficient data reads as insufficient data, not as zero

Unaccounted is named, not hidden. The grey band is schedulable time with no record against it. Orientra will not call it idle — it may well be work nobody entered, and its size is how far the other figures can be trusted.
